Labour Live: Labour Party announces details for one-off arts festival in London

The Labour Party will hold a one-day arts festival in London this summer, with artists including Rae Morris, The Magic Numbers and The Voice winner Jermain Jackman announced to perform so far.

“Labour Live” will take place at the White Hart Lane recreation ground in Tottenham on Saturday 16 June. It is being billed as “a brand new one-day festival of music, art and politics that brings together our incredible movement.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, shadow chancellor John McDonnell and local MP Kate Osamor will all be making speeches during the day.

Tickets for Labour Live go on sale on Monday 19 March (today).

News of the festival follows Corbyn’s appearance at Glastonbury Festival 2017, where he gave a rousing speech on the Pyramid Stage before introducing hip hop duo Run The Jewels.

“What festivals, what this festival is about, are about coming together,” he said at the time. ”This festival was envisaged as being for music yes, but also for the environment, and for peace.”
