Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn will be in Bristol city centre today

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn will be in Bristol city centre today for a huge rally.

There's less than one week until people go to the polls for the General Election 2019.

During this campaign there has been a noticeable lack of big public events staged by Mr Corbyn - which were plentiful during the 2017 elections.

However, with just days to go, it looks like that is about to change as Mr Corbyn plans to speak on College Green at 1:30pm - with hundreds of people already expressing an interest to attend.

Bristol's People Assembly announced the news on Facebook at 8pm today (Sunday) and the post has been shared almost 200 times.

A spokesperson for the group said: "Big public outdoor rallies, of which there have been relatively few this time, have a unique ability to smash through the press deception that Jeremy Corbyn is unpopular.

Adding: "Get there if you can, by hook or by crook, and let's win this election."

Conservative leader, Boris Johnson, visited Bristol in November when he vowed to help the city's transport woes.
