Labour conference 2017: Keith Vaz filmed singing Bob Marley's Jammin' at karaoke session

Labour MPs spent the first day at their conference arguing about weighty issues including Brexit and the party's key economic policies.

But many of those gathered in Brighton ended it on a lighter note, listening to Keith Vaz, the former chair of the Home Affairs Select Committee, sing karaoke.

Mr Vaz joined other MPs and London Mayor Sadiq Khan at a Jamaica-themed party run by Dawn Butler, the Shadow Equalities Minister.

As the night wore on, the member for Leicester East took to the microphone to join Ms Butler for a rendition of Bob Marley's Jammin' in front of hundreds of cheering members.

Toby Perkins, the former armed forces minister, also contributed with a cover of James hit 'Sit Down'.

The standard of singing improved significantly when Jermaine Jackson, former winner of The Voice, turned up.
