Labels link with London College of Fashion for sustainable push

Luxury clothing labels will have access to the London College of Fashion’s most innovative green champions as part of a new tie-up as the industry looks to become more sustainable.

Common Objective is an online business network that allows brands to connect with ethical suppliers, buyers and experts. It said on Friday that it has agreed a partnership with the college, where the famous school’s 6000 staff and students will create profiles.

Representatives from firms such as Vivienne Westwood and Gucci’s parent Kering, which are signed up to Common Objective, will have direct access to new talent and innovative ideas.

Likewise students can learn about what top designers are doing to be sustainable.

Fashion veteran Harold Tillman CBE, an LCF alumnus and Common Objective co-founder, said: “We are a strong believer in supporting all fashion businesses to adopt more sustainable principles.”

Common Objective wants to take sustainable fashion from niche to normal.
