The Palisades Fire in Los Angeles has caused significant damage, but there is some positive news to report. The fire has not grown in size for the past five days, remaining at 23,713 acres, as confirmed by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Prevention. This size was first reported on January 12 at 11:13 am.
Another major wildfire in the area, the Eaton Fire near Pasadena, has also shown stability. It has maintained its size at 14,117 acres for almost a week now, with the size being recorded on January 10 at 7:23 pm.

One of the contributing factors to the containment of these fires has been the more favorable weather conditions. The winds have not been as intense as initially forecasted, allowing firefighters to establish a larger perimeter around the fires.
Significant progress has been made in containing the Eaton Fire, with containment increasing from a mere 3% a week ago to the current 65%. Similarly, the Palisades Fire has seen an improvement in containment, rising from 11% to 31% this week.
