The second weekend of the new La Liga season features one of the favorites looking to build upon a very strong start with a chance to stay ahead of their main rivals in the early stages of what should be a very tight title race. Real Madrid will face a team that will fight against relegation and relish the chance of stealing a huge point at the Santiago Bernabéu.

After a summer of doubt and a few bad performances during the preseason, Real Madrid had a dominant victory vs. Celta Vigo on the road, which is always a tough game for Los Blancos. Madrid had no issues despite playing with 10 men after Luka Modric’s red card thanks to Toni Kroos, who was a welcome sight for Madrid fans worried about their midfield. Kroos will have to step up once again with Modric suspended, but the German looks in fine form right now.
Real Madrid fans will have to wait almost a month to watch Eden Hazard, but it’s a chance to see Gareth Bale try to prove he deserves his place on the team. Vinicius Junior will also look to show he has the potential to become a superstar and stay in the starting XI even when Hazard comes back. Madrid will face a Valladolid team that will defend for their lives and try to leave with a draw they’d celebrate like a win. However, Real is a big favorite. Even if this isn’t that competitive, Los Blancos will be looking forward to putting on a show in their home debut.
