The time and date for this season’s first La LigaEl Clasico since Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure has been announced.
The fixture which attracts hundreds of millions of viewers in over one-hundred countries will be played in October on a Sunday afternoon at the Nou Camp, the president of La Liga Javier Tebas confirmed.
“Barcelona will face Real Madrid on Sunday, 28 Octover at 16:15 (CEST) (15:15 BST),” he said.
Real Madrid will be without Ronaldo, who joined Juventus for £88m in July, and will have to replace his 18 goals scored in his last 30 El Clasico matches.
Lionel Messi, who has 26 goals in 38 Clasicos, recently said that Real Madrid are a significantly weaker side now they have lost their talisman.
“Real Madrid are one of the best teams in the world with a great squad [but] it’s evident that the absence of Cristaino Ronaldo makes them less good,” he said.
“It surprised me. I didn’t imagine him leaving Madrid or joining Juventus,” he added. “There were a lot of teams that wanted him. It surprised me but he went to a very good team.”
Live Spanish football will exclusively be shown in the UK by online streaming service Eleven Sport, including both El Clasicos, after Sky Sports lost the rights to broadcast it.
