April 22--International relations have been a priority for LA 2024 over the past few months, with representatives of Los Angeles' Olympic bid committee traveling to visit sports officials around the world.
Some of the meetings have been with International Olympic Committee members who will eventually vote to select a host for the 2024 Games. Others have focused on the international federations that govern each sport.
On Friday, LA 2024 sport director Doug Arnot was scheduled to be in Switzerland for talks with executives for handball, the last of the 28 federations on the list.
Bid cities use these discussions to learn the ins and outs of each event. How much space do athletes need to warm up? Are there any secrets to configuring a better field of play?
Los Angeles has the vast majority of its potential venues already built, but can make adjustments with the "overlay" of each facility. So the bid committee has been showing federations its initial plans and asking for feedback.
"Every year, these experts stage world-class events and it is vital that we learn from their experience and incorporate their best practices," committee Chairman Casey Wasserman said in a statement.

Los Angeles is competing with Paris, Rome and Budapest to host the 2024 Games. The IOC is scheduled to choose a host in September 2017.
