Kyril Louis-Dreyfus' brother Maurice is one of four new appointments to the Sunderland board

Kyril Louis-Dreyfus' twin brother Maurice is among four directors appointed to the Sunderland board, the club has confirmed.

New chief operating office Steve Davison is also part of the quartet, along with minority shareholder Juan Sartori, and lawyer Simon Vumbaca who was involved in the deal which saw Stewart Donald buy the club in 2018.

They join majority shareholder and chairman Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, and non-executive directors David Jones and Tom Sloanes in the boardroom at the Stadium of Light.

Kyril Louis-Dreyfus said: "I am delighted to welcome Juan, Maurice, Simon and Steve to the club's board of directors.

"This is an exciting period for Sunderland AFC and these appointments represent the culmination of a detailed and thorough process to identify a board that not only respects SAFC's rich heritage and core values, but also brings the experience, creativity and dynamism required to bring sustainable and lasting success to the club."

In a statement confirming the appointments, the club said: "The quartet will support SAFC's existing executive team in carrying out the club's long-term strategic objectives on and off the pitch, whilst further strengthening and underpinning the foundations put in place throughout the first part of 2021."

When Louis-Dreyfus took over the club in February, Donald and then-chief executive Jim Rodwell immediately stepped down as directors.

In the months preceding the takeover, minority shareholder Charlie Methven, and executive director Neil Fox also stepped down.

And within weeks of Louis-Dreyfus taking charge, long-serving financial director Angela Lowes also left the board.
