Kyrie Irving Suffers Hand Injury, Mavericks Provide No Timeline

During an offseason workout, Kyrie Irving suffered a broken left hand, leading to surgery, as announced by the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. The team did not specify a timeline for Irving's recovery following the injury.

Irving, alongside Luka Doncic, played a pivotal role in guiding the Mavericks to the NBA Finals in their first full season together. Despite their efforts, the Boston Celtics emerged victorious in the title series, clinching the championship in five games.

The 32-year-old Irving faced various physical challenges throughout the regular season, including foot, heel, and thumb injuries. Despite these setbacks, he managed to maintain an impressive average of 25.6 points per game across 58 games.

This season marked Irving's most successful playoff run since his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2017. His contributions were instrumental in propelling the Mavericks to the finals, a feat the team had not achieved since their championship victory in 2011.

The Dallas Mavericks assured that updates on Irving's condition would be shared as necessary. With training camp set to commence in approximately 2 1/2 months, the team is likely to provide further details on Irving's recovery and potential return to the court.
