Kyrie Irving spotted at 40/40 Club with several Brooklyn Nets players

Per Anthony Puccio of NetsDaily, Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving went to rap mogul JAY-Z’s famous 40/40 Club on Wednesday night and though later reports state that Irving had a private section, it’s notable that several Brooklyn Nets players — including Caris LeVert, Jared Dudley, Theo Pinson and Alan Williams — we’re also in attendance.

Earlier on Wednesday, Irving was spotted giddily walking into a townhouse in New York.

With all the speculation that the Nets, primarily, and the New York Knicks are favorites to sign Irving, whether it’s purely coincidence or a trail of breadcrumbs, the constant connections between Irving and the Nets that are being highlighted have led many to believe that Irving’s days as a Celtic are numbered.

Quite frankly, having separate sections or arriving separately doesn’t prevent players from crossing paths and there’s a particular player in Dudley who would surely try to pitch playing for the Nets to Irving, even in passing. Nonetheless, at least one player named has denied being there with Irving.

Speculation aside, Irving is clearly cozy in New York and comfort will always be a factor in free agent decisions.

Irving averaged 23.8 points, 6.9 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game last season while shooting 48.7 percent from the field, 40.1 percent from three and 87.3 percent from the free-throw line. After a grueling regular season, the wheels fell off for Irving in the postseason, as he averaged 21.3 points, 7.0 assists, 4.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game but shot just 38.5 percent from the field and 31.0 percent from three.

Still, Irving is recognized as one of the most elite shot-creators and makers in the league and just completed a season in which he showed himself to be an all-around contributor after seasons of being seen as just a scorer, more or less. There’s a reason that the Celtics have dealt with the drama surround Irving and will continue to.
