Kyrie Irving ruled out for Tuesday’s matchup against Sixers

Kyrie Irving had to leave the Boston Celtics’ game on Saturday just before halftime with a sprained right knee. Things, of course, went from bad to worse for the Celtics, with the Los Angeles Clippers coming back to win 123-112.

Up until Marcus Morris’ comments after the game, Irving’s health was of the utmost concern, despite the ridiculousness of the loss. However, the Celtics’ received some good news on Sunday their star’s health.

Still, Irving will be held of Tuesday’s matchup with the Philadelphia 76ers, as will Aron Baynes.

Irving did show up to Celtics practice on Monday, but he did not participate.

With the Celtics’ following Tuesday up with a Wednesday game against Detroit, it would make sense to see Boston’s lone 2019 All-Star sit out of that one, as well. Speaking of the NBA All-Star Game, that’s on Sunday. One would think Irving sits that out given the injury and how it occurred so close to the game. The optics wouldn’t be great if he decided to suit up and play in a meaningless game alongside LeBron James.
