Kyrie Irving goes off after being asked about his hallway chat with Kevin Durant

Boston Celtics star Kyrie Irving seems like he’s annoyed with a lot of stuff right now.

He had that interview with ESPN’s Rachel Nichols where he shared his thoughts on the team’s chemistry, if they were having fun, how the media causes distractions, and much more.

And then after Wednesday’s practice he went off on a rant when he was asked about the hallway chat he was seen having with his good friend Kevin Durant during All-Star Weekend in Charlotte when the two were teammates on LeBron James’ winning squad.

Here’s the video in question and it really did look like Irving might have been recruiting Durant to go to the Knicks, who will have two max spots open, with him:

Irving wasn’t happy about being asked about things in his personal life and let that clearly be known:

He said:

This is the stuff that doesn’t make the league fun. It does’t make the league fun. It’s my life, right? It’s two people talking, having a conversation. If this was the real world would it be anybody else’s business. But it’s a video of somebody assuming what we’re talking about. Making an opinion about it. So why would I care about it? What I do with my life is my business. So it’s none of yours, its none of anybody’s. It’s not anybody else’s business. Everybody wants to hear me talk like this. Everybody wants every athlete to talk about (bleep) like this. It just makes no sense.

Look, it’s been a quiet few days in sports so this stuff is bound to come up, especially when it’s something involving two stars who are going to be free agents at the end of the season. And especially since it really did look like he might have been making a pitch to Durant.

Thankfully we get back to games on Thursday.

But man, this offseason could be bonkers.
