Kyrie Irving expected to play in Los Angeles against Lakers

The Boston Celtics continue to find a way to make do without star point guard Kyrie Irving, winning their last game 111-109 thanks to a game-winning shot from Gordon Hayward. Irving was absent Wednesday following his 19-point, 11-assist performance in Boston’s 128-95 win over the Golden State Warriors due to a left thigh contusion.

But it appears that may have been more of a management day for Irving, or he at least recovered from the bruise quickly, given Brad Stevens told reporters on Los Angeles Irving will be ready to go Saturday against the Lakers.

In the Celtics’ frustrating loss to the Lakers on February 7, Irving finished with 24 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. Based on how the team has played the last two games, those numbers should be more than enough for the Celtics to pull out the win.
