Kyrie Irving exits game vs. Clippers with right knee sprain

In the midst of the Boston Celtics putting the hurting on the Los Angeles Clippers, Kyrie Irving had to exit the game with a right knee sprain.

Irving has had his share of knee problems, missed the end of the 2017-18 season to receive surgery, though it was to remove screws in his left knee. While even the slightest physical ailment is cause for concern with Irving, the Celtics could also be playing it safe with Boston holding a comfortable lead at the time of his injury.

The one positive sign was Irving didn’t exit the game directly on the play he aggravated his knee. Prior to hitting the showers for the night, Boston’s star point guard had scored 14 points in 14 minutes of play. He also had two assists and a rebound. Additionally, of the seven shots Irving had taken, he’d made four, while also going 5 for 5 from the free-throw line.
