Kyren Williams wins NFC Offensive Player of the Week for 204-yard game vs. Cardinals

Kyren Williams’ return from injured reserve could not have gone any better. Not only did he help the Rams crush the Cardinals, 37-14, but he put up a career-high 204 yards from scrimmage with two touchdowns – his fourth multi-touchdown game of the season.

On Wednesday, he was awarded NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for Week 12, a deserving sign of recognition for the second-year running back. He rushed for 143 yards on 16 attempts and caught six passes for 61 yards, two of which went for touchdowns.

It was Williams’ second straight game with at least 150 yards from scrimmage, both of which came against the Cardinals. It’s also the first time he’s won a weekly award in the NFL, but it probably won’t be his last.

Williams has been outstanding as the Rams’ starting running back this season, emerging as their top option. Los Angeles traded away Cam Akers and leaned heavily on Williams, which has proven to be the right move.

Up next is a matchup with the Browns, who have allowed the fewest yards of any team in the NFL this season.
