Kyogo takes Celtic global as Tokyo travellers get up-close look at his Parkhead adventures

Kyogo Furuhashi has gone down a storm at Celtic since his summer move from Vissel Kobe.

But it's safe to say his J-League exit to link up with Ange Postecoglou has done little to hurt his profile back home.

Kyogo remains a Japanese footballing icon and is idolised in his native country for following in Shunsuke Nakamura's footsteps and flying the flag for his homeland at one of the biggest clubs in the UK.

Highlights of his debut hat-trick against Dundee racked up never before-seen viewership on the SPFL's YouTube page thanks to huge numbers tuning in from Japan.

He's barely stopped for breath since then, firing in seven more goals to notch double figures in just 15 appearances for his new club.

And that landmark has been celebrated throughout his homeland with one snap inside a Tokyo station lapping up his flying form.

It comes from Twitter user Sean G, a Celtic and Yokohama F Marinos fan based in Tokyo.

And it shows a series of marquee billboards flashing a pic of Kyogo celebrating his strike against Hibs with Jota and his Celtic teammates.

It explains that the strike was already his tenth of the season in all competitions since swapping the J-League for the Scottish Premiership.

Kyogo's finish was Celtic's third on their way to a 3-1 win over Hibs that moved them to within two points of rivals Rangers at the top of the league.

The Japan star will be dreaming of firing them to title glory, and if he can do that then you can be sure his adoring public back home will be lapping it up.
