Kyogo puts Celtic cup final heroics in career top five as he hails Rangers as a 'very good' opponent

Kyogo Furuhashi admits rivals Rangers are a 'very good opponent' and that is why Celtic must not take their foot off the gas.

The Japanese star has lit up the Scottish Premiership this season with 24 goals scored in all competitions for Ange Postecoglou's league leaders. Kyogo has been central to the champions' plight to retain their crown with a nine-point advantage still being held over Rangers and a Viaplay Cup final victory being massively aided by the forward's brace at Hampden.

The 28-year-old entered 2023 without a goal in his previous derby appearances but scored the crucial equaliser in January at Ibrox to keep the Hoops unbeaten and was the man of the hour at Hampden last month. He insists their Glasgow rivals are a 'very good' opposition and that Celtic cannot 'relax' much towards the run-in.

He told Celtic TV: "It was a great game of course against a strong opponent. Everything was a great experience.

"Looking back at the moments to see the supporters, the staff and teammates smiling when we won. I'm happy to look back at this. That is why I'm trying to work everyday to win games and trophies. We keep continuing to improve and to have the same experience in the future.

"Rangers are a very good opponent and we will play them again this season so we cannot relax. We must keep improving and continue to develop and for that we need to score more goals.

"Looking back at the final, every game is memorable. But is is a top five game in my career."
