Kyogo Furuhashi STARTS for Kobe as Celtic new boy set for rock star farewell party

New Celtic signing Kyogo Furuhashi will play his final game for Vissel Kobe on Saturday as fans fear an injury before he flies out to Glasgow.

The Japanese international has signed subject to medical clearance, with manager Ange Postecoglou using his knowledge of the J League to bring in the 26-year-old.

Furuhashi is the top scorer in the division and won the player of the year in 2019 and 2020, leaving Celtic fans excited about his arrival.

But many will be watching with bated breath as their new man STARTS against Cerezo Osaka.

Furuhashi will be given a send-off by the club on Sunday, with fans invited to log in to view the farewell on YouTube due to the escalating coronavirus crisis in Japan.

But before that he'll play his final match for his current club, with the forward posting "tomorrow will be special" on his Instagram as he posted an image warming up for the game.

With a transfer already agreed it's something of an unusual step for a player to risk injury playing a competitive match before his departure.

And Celtic fans on social media are already fearing the worst, with the likes of Vasilis Barkas, Ismaila Soro and Odsonne Edouard already pulling up with injuries in pre-season.
