Kyogo Furuhashi spell on Celtic sidelines to last 'a month' after Japan injury scare

Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi will be missing for around a month after picking up an injury on international duty, according to a report.

The Japan forward suffered a knee problem during the World Cup 2022 qualifier against China, which his side would go on to win 1-0.

Furuhashi, who has scored seven goals in nine games for Ange Postecoglou's side, was substituted after 50 minutes.

And now the Scottish Sun claim he'll be out for around a month, and is expected to miss around seven games.

It's hardly a season-wrecking issue and the worst case scenario appears to have been avoided.

But that may still feel like seven games too many as the former Vissel Kobe man has emerged as a masterstroke signing early on in Postecoglou's reign.

However, the Aussie boss can be comforted by a new array of attacking options that arrived in the final day of the window.

Greek striker Giorgos Giakoumakis now seems likely to start up front against Ross County in this weekend's Premiership clash while wide man Jota, on loan from Benfica, could also benefit from a berth on the left.
