Kyogo Furuhashi shows his Celtic class as star spotted picking litter during Bayer Leverkusen thumping

It was a tough night at Parkhead for Celtic as they were once again reminded they have a long way to go under Ange Postecoglou.

But if there was one positive to take, it was the return to the side of Kyogo Furuhashi.

It was far from the Japan star's most memorable game since in a Celtic shirt since joining from Vissel Kobe as they were thumped 4-0 by Bayer Leverkusen while he passed up a couple of golden chances.

But the sight of the new number eight leading the line once more will at least give the Parkhead faithful hope for the months ahead.

He has already won the hearts and minds of Celtic fans with his infectious smile and goalscoring, and one clip circulating on social media appears to have further endeared him to the Parkhead faithful.

The short clip, captured pitchside by Twitter user '@julieclarkx' shows Kyogo after his 74th minute substitution.

The Hoops were 3-0 down by this point and well on their way to a second straight Europa League defeat.

But rather than sulk off straight to the bench, Kyogo acknowledged the applause from fans and used his walk round the pitch to pick up some litter from in front of the main stand.

On a difficult night for all involved, it was another sign of why he's rapidly becoming a Parkhead favourite despite Celtic's difficult start to life under Postecoglou.

They now trail Premiership leaders Rangers by six points and have it all to do if they want to avoid Europa League group stage elimination for the second season running.
