Kyogo Furuhashi's vital Celtic role pinpointed as Ange Postecoglou hails 'outstanding' Dundee hat trick

Ange Postecoglou expects Celtic 's hat-trick hero Kyogo Furuhashi to lead from the front this season after his Dundee demolition showing.

Furuhashi was the star of the show on his Parkhead debut as Tom Rogic, Anthony Ralston and substitute Odsonne Edouard chipped in with goals in the rout of the 10-man Dark Blues.

The Japanese international is quickly earning hero status at the club and boss Postecoglou reckons his showing inspired the rest of the team.

He told Celtic TV: "We played some good football and worked awfully hard. We started the game really well and sort of set the tone.

"It was a good performance by the players and they got their rewards for their hard work.

"He (Kyogo) got three goals and probably could have got a couple more but his defensive work was also outstanding.

"That got the crowd going and that is what he brings; that energy. The other boys filtered off that, and I think in general with our energy for the 90 minutes we didn't take our foot off the pedal. It was pleasing.

He also singled out Ryan Christie for praise as he chipped in with three assists during an impressive performance.

Postecoglou added: "Ryan was great, his energy is infectious.

"It goes through the whole team. He loves getting on the ball, but it's hard to single people out because the whole team worked really hard and there wasn't one player who wasn't trying to do the things we are trying to implement."
