Japan have swooped to recall Kyogo Furuhashi at the last minute before their key clashes with Saudi Arabia and Australia.
The Celtic star returned from injury in their Europa League thumping against Bayer Leverkusen and managed 74 minutes before being substituted.
He looked lively early on but squandered a couple of glorious chances as he looks to regain his match sharpness following his spell on the sidelines.
Kyogo has been a regular in recent Japan squads and manager Hajime Moriyasu wanted to give him every chance to recover in time to make the World Cup qualifying double header.
So he would have been delighted to see Ange Postecoglou name him in his starting lineup at Parkhead as he sought to add to his seven Celtic goals.
An eighth strike wasn't forthcoming but it was positive that Kyogo made it through his return without any further injury issues.
And less than a week before Japan face Saudi Arabia in their third Qatar 2022 qualifier, they have recalled Kyogo to the side.
It means he could face the Saudis on Thursday as well as Australia the following Tuesday.
Kyogo has run out eight times for Japan in the past, scoring eight times.
And he'll be looking to fire Japan up their section after a stumbling start to qualifying saw them beat China but lose to lowly Oman.
