From the outside looking in it seemed Kyogo Furuhashi was instantly getting the better of Scottish defenders after a blistering start to life at Celtic.
However, the Japan international insists he had to re-learn how to "outsmart" opponents upon switching Vissel Kobe for Parkhead in the summer.
The 26-year-old has eight goals in 11 Hoops appearances and has been a key component of new boss Ange Postecoglou's rebuild.
And, speaking ahead of his country's pivotal World Cup qualifier against team-mate Tom Rogic's Australia, Kyogo was asked if he could combat the Aussie's "tall and physical" defence with tools he's learned in the Premiership.
He said: “That is a feature (of Scottish football), so I use my movement to outsmart the opponent.
“I hate it if I can’t continue a run, and there are some players who are good at lowering the opponent's line and receiving it in the space.
“So if I can do that movement as well (against Australia).
"What you can do is run in the offence and defence, and in attacks you can create space by continuing to move aiming for space and get closer to the goal.
"I think that going from the front to the pressure will give the team a good chance."
