Kyogo Furuhashi Celtic form not linked to World Cup snub as legend explains reason he can't be at 100 per cent

Kyogo Furuhashi's snub from the Japan national side to compete at the World Cup has nothing to do with his Celtic form.

That is the view of Japanese legend Shoji Jo, who believes there is a key reason Kyogo cannot be at 100 per cent for his country. It was a blow to both Furuhashi and Parkhead teammate Reo Hatate to be ruled out of the Qatar tournament, with only Daizen Maeda representing the Scottish champions.

Yet Furuhashi's Celtic form may have induced a spot in the squad, the Japan legend feels the team as a whole lacks a key element that wouldn't allow the 27-year-old to hit top form. He told AS : "Furuhashi has played very well for Celtic this season.
