Kyogo an injury doubt for Celtic in big Hibs restart

Ange Postecoglou has been left sweating the fitness of Kyogo ahead of the clash with Hibs on Monday, according to a report.

The Japan star has been one of Celtic 's key players so far but picked up a knock in the Boxing Day victory over St Johnstone.

Postecoglou stressed at the time that it wasn't likely to be serious but question marks arose about his absence from images and footage from Celtic's training in recent days.

Kyogo wasn't pictured at Lennoxtown on Thursday and with just days before the clash with Hibs, alarm bells were ringing about his condition.

And now The Scottish Sun confirm that he did miss training and leaves Postecoglou fearing the worst.

If Kyogo isn't back for Monday then new recruit from Japan Daizen Maeda could lead the line.

There was better news where Jota is concerned as Postecoglou confirmed the Portuguese could return in time for the Hibs clash.

"It's good to have him back. He was out medium-to-long-term but he's rehabbed really well," he said.

"He joined in team training today. We'll see (if he can face Hibs), he won't be far off.

"If it's not Monday, he'll have the next couple of weeks to be available. He feels really good."
