Kym Marsh has opened up about becoming a grandmother at the age of 42 a week after her daughter Emilie gave birth.
After managing to tear herself away from the little one, Coronation Street actress Kym made an appearance at the Pride of Manchester Awards where she walked the red carpet in a stunning floorlength gown.
Speaking of her 22-year-old daughter, Kym said: "Emilie is doing great. She has been an absolute warrior.
“It feels like the royal baby , and we beat her as well,” she joked.

Kym, who is set to leave the ITV soap this year, revealed that she was Emilie’s co-birthing partner, which she described as “amazing.”
Emilie and her partner Mikey welcomed their baby boy on Friday night and they both shared a photo of their son's tiny hand on Instagram the following day to announce the happy news.
Emilie said: "Welcome to the world my precious baby boy.
"You have filled a space in my heart that I never even knew was there, and you’ve managed to take over the whole of it.”

Kym, who plays Michelle Connor in Corrie, said on her social media: “Last night was a night I will never forget. I became a ‘Loli’ for the first time!!! My beautiful daughter was an absolute warrior and her partner and I were the best birthing team we could be!!!
“I was so honoured to have been a part of bringing him into the world. “My beautiful grandson, I love you I will always love you and I promise to help guide you through life as best I can.”
She then added on Twitter : "Did I mention I am in love with my grandson?
Kym was speaking at the Pride of Manchester Awards at the Principal hotel.
She also revealed that Emilie had Mikey had chosen a name for their little one but were waiting to reveal it.
