Kym Marsh shares first snap from birthday proposal after announcing engagement

Kym Marsh had a two reasons to celebrate over the weekend after getting engaged on her birthday.

The BBC Morning Live presenter said she was 'over the moon' as she announced she said 'YES' to partner Scott Ratcliff.

Former Coronation Street star Kym and Scott, a major in the army Parachute Regiment, began dating back in 2018 after being introduced by their mutual friend Antony Cotton, who plays Sean Tully in Corrie.

And now the pair are set to walk down the aisle after Scott popped the question on Kym's 45th birthday.

Actress Kym has shared a first look at the surprise proposal by sharing a snap of the loved-up pair to Instagram.

"I said YES!!!!!! Sooooo happy!!!" she captioned the post which showed Kym and Scott sharing a kiss in front of a huge 'Happy Birthday' display of balloons.

Kym was bringing the sunshine in a colourful floral long-sleeved dress while new fiancé Scott looked summer ready in white and blue patterned shirt.

Friends and co-stars have been quick to flood the post with congratulatory messages for the newly engaged pair.

Daniel Brocklebank, who stars in Corrie as vicar Billy, wrote: "Fabulous news! Congratulations you two!!"

"Congratulations Mama …Love you xxx" Dancing On Ice star Faye Brookes added.

Strictly Come Dancing pro Johannes Radebe also said: "Yes you did congratulations."

Kym told OK! after the proposal: "I'm absolutely over the moon - I can't believe it.

"It's been the best birthday surprise ever. I can't stop smiling!"

Kym has previously told the publication that the pair were "made for each other."

And on thing she doesn't like is Scott being called her 'toyboy'.

"Scott is 32 and I'm almost 44, I hate when people describe him as my 'toy boy', as I think it's patronising to him!

"Men are often with much younger women and no one bats an eyelid, but when it's the reverse, people seem to judge."
