Kym Marsh rushed to hospital in 'terrifying' health scare

Kym Marsh has opened up about being rushed to hospital during a terrifying health ordeal that left her bed ridden ‘for days’.

The 42-year-old Hear’Say and Coronation Street star says she still doesn’t know the reason for her illness - but gave details of her ordeal in her column for OK! magazine.

By all accounts, it sounds like the star - who first found fame on Popstars back in 2001 - has recovered from her health scare, but this doesn’t in any way revoke the fact that it must have been traumatic at the time.

Opening up about the moment she started to feel sick, Kym writes: “I felt so awful I had to go to the Alexandra Hospital in Manchester. I was shaking, I felt terrible and like I’d been hit by a truck.”

From her account, it sounds like doctors are stumped over what made Kym feel so bad.

“They ran lots of tests on me and I’m still waiting for the results,” she revealed, adding: “but doctors think it could be Salmonella poisoning, which is really serious.”

Kym said the experience was one of the worst of her life - and says she is grateful her daughter Emilie Cunliffe, 22, and son David, 23, were on hand to care for her eight-year-old daughter Polly (from her failed marriage with soap hunk Jamie Lomas).

“The ordeal has been terrifying and I’ve never felt so ill! I was bed-ridden for four days,” she explained.

“The whole family rallied around me, David and Emilie had to get Polly up and ready for school because I couldn’t get out of bed,” she revealed.
