Kym Marsh joined by her Coronation Street co-stars for her leaving party

The Coronation Street cast looked a far cry from their Weatherfield personas as they joined Kym Marsh for her leaving party.

Corrie favourite Kym was joined by her TV family as she waved goodbye to Weatherfield with a Friday night out at the Great John Street Hotel in Manchester.

Kym, who is leaving the soap after almost 14 years of drama on the cobbles , was seen arriving for her party in camouflage trousers, a black sweatshirt and white trainers, carrying her party outfit in a dress bag.

The 43-year-old actress, who joined the show as Michelle Connor in 2006, wore her hair in a glamorous up-do.

And it sounds like it was a fun night because on Saturday morning she tweeted "well.....I’ve felt better" next to sickly face and crying-with-laughter face emojis.

Tina O'Brien and Lucy Fallon, who play on-screen mum and daughter Sarah and Bethany Platt, arrived at the bash together looking stunning in black off-the-shoulder dresses and open-toe high heels.

And the actresses both added a pop of colour to their look with a slick of red lipstick.

Dolly-Rose Campbell, who plays 'quad mother' Gemma Winter, also turned heads as she arrived in a black lace outfit.

Her character has had Corrie fans gripped over the past week as she was seen giving birth to one of her quadruplets Aled in a cable car in Llandudno.

New mum Gemma is now waiting to take all four of her babies home to Weatherfield from hospital in North Wales.

Guests also included Alison King, who plays Michelle's best friend Carla Connor, Jimmi Harkishin who plays Dev Alahan, Cherylee Houston who plays Izzy Armstrong, Rob Mallard who plays Daniel Osbourne, Antony Cotton who plays Sean Tully, Jane Danson who plays Leanne Battersby and Ryan Prescott who plays Michelle's son Ryan.

Last month Kym said she was feeling emotional after receiving her final Coronation Street scripts.

"Sooooo......had my very last scripts for @itvcorrie the end of an era is in sight! I’m emotional to say the least!!" she tweeted with crying emojis.

The actress   wanted to explore new roles, with the door left open for the character's return.

Kym said in a statement: “When I was lucky enough to be offered four episodes on Coronation Street I could never in my wildest dreams have thought I’d be here 13 years later.

“It’s been an incredibly difficult decision but it feels like the right time for me to take a break from the show and explore some other roles.

“But this isn’t the last you’ve heard of Michelle Connor, she’ll be back! I can’t wait to see what the writers have in store for the future.”

She hasn't revealed how Michelle will be leaving, but fans are hoping she'll get revenge on her cheating fiance Robert Preston.

Michelle is currently blissfully unaware that Robert, played by Tristan Gemmill, is leading a double life and is also engaged to Vicky Jefferies who is expecting his baby.

Kym shot to fame in 2000 on ITV reality show Popstars, eventually becoming a singer in Hear’Say.

She made her television acting debut in 2005, in an episode of the BBC One soap opera Doctors, then became a panelist on ITV show Loose Women before making her debut on the ITV soap in 2006 as singer Michelle who became a barmaid and later landlady of the Rovers Return.
