Kym Marsh has revealed her family's heartbreak as her uncle George died with coronavirus while in hospital.
The former Coronation Street star said George, the husband of her mother's sister, caught the virus in hospital and his family was unable to visit him during his final days.
Kym has now remembered her uncle in her latest OK! Magazine column and admits her upset at the thought of him "being alone in that hospital."
"You hear about people losing their loved ones during this time and people passing away alone in hospitals and only a few people attending their funerals," the 43-year-old said.
"But when it happens to you and your family, it really brings this whole thing home. It breaks my heart to think of him being alone in that hospital."
Kym went on to explain that George had been in a care home before he fell ill and was taken to hospital.
Due to the current safety rules, his children and other members of the family were unable to see him before he passed away. Instead, they had to send video messages which were played to George by nurses before he died.
Kym ended her tribute: "My uncle George was an amazing man and I have so many happy memories of him. He was a great guy and the life and soul of any party. Sleep tight uncle George."
