Kym Marsh hasn't seen her army boyfriend for seven months as coronavirus delays his return to the UK

Kym Marsh has revealed that she hasn’t seen her army boyfriend for seven months as his return to the UK is delayed due to coronavirus.

The former Coronation Street star told Lorraine Kelly that Scott Ratcliff, 31, was due to come home from Afghanistan this month, but it has been pushed back until May.

Kym, 43, spoke to the Scottish presenter during Good Morning Britain’s extended hour, admitting it’s been ‘hard’ to be without him for so long.

The actress is currently at home with her daughter Polly, nine - who appeared with her on the ITV show via videolink from their home - as well as her son David, 25, and his girlfriend.

Kym has also been unable to see her daughter Emily, 23, and grandson Teddy, who is 11 months.

She told Lorraine: “Yeah it's hard. It was hard anyway but it's been even more so now because obviously you want to be with your partner at times like this, you need to support each other.

“He and a lot of the other boys have been delayed coming back because of it. He should have been back this month, he’s now not going to be back until next month.

“We'll have done seven months by the time he comes back.”

She added: “When Scott gets back it's another dynamic in the house, we'll feel a bit safer.”

Kym also spoke about pulling out of presenting The One Show last month as fans feared she had contracted COVID-19.

She said: “I started self-isolating before the lockdown started so I've been doing this for longer. I developed some symptoms.

“I'm not convinced it was that. It was more than likely a seasonal cold, but it was the right thing the do, anyone who was showing symptoms should be isolating.

“So I decided to do that I was supposed to be co-presenting The One Show but I had to cancel.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
