Kym Marsh fronts harrowing new true crime series about intimate murders

Coronation Street star Kym Marsh is heading up a brand new true crime series called Murder at my Door, airing on CRIME+INVESTIGATION.

In a brand new trailer for the show, Kym speaks to families who have been affected by a horrific murder, while the perpetrator was someone they welcomed in their own home.

The four-part series will explore the tragic deaths of Ellie Gould, Gagandip Singh, Jenny Methven, and Susan Annis, victims who unknowingly opened their door to evil, experiencing the ultimate betrayal in the most intimate of settings.

Detectives, police officers, journalists, and experts offer their insight as viewers will be walked through the investigations of each case, explaining the twists and turns of the case.

With crime scene photographs and specially shot filming at each location, helping to retrace the steps of the murders, each episode will provide a full 360-degree perspective of the intricate investigations in each case and, ultimately, aim to reveal the motives for the murders.

And the first episode explores the heartbreaking death of Ellie Gould, who was murdered by her ex boyfriend in May 2019.

Ellie Gould, 17, was murdered in her Wiltshire family home (PA)

Ellie, 17, began a relationship with Thomas Griffiths, also 17, in January 2019, but in May, Ellie wanted to focus on her A levels and told friends that they had split up.

The following day, Griffiths told his teachers he was ill and went home by bus, then drove illegally to Ellie’s home.

He viciously attacked her by strangulation and then stabbing her with a kitchen knife at least 13 times, and then he arranged the scene to make it look as if she had killed herself.

Unconvinced it was suicide, police launched an investigation, and the dumped bag of bloody clothing was discovered, leading to Griffiths' confession.

In November 2019, Griffiths was jailed for life and ordered to serve a minimum of 12 ½ years, and Ellie's family believes he should never be released.

* Murder at my Door with Kym Marsh premieres on CRIME+INVESTIGATION on Monday 2nd November at 9pm
