Kym Marsh causes a frenzy with her new haircut - and has fans asking for 'The Kym'

Kym Marsh has received a raft of compliments from fans after unveiling a new bob hairstyle for autumn.

As she made her debut on a new BBC morning show this week Kym was sporting chic new locks.

The former Corrie star looks stunning with her shorter chocolate coloured tresses and caramel highlights.

Forget 'The Rachel' cut from the 90s inspired by Jennifer Aniston in Friends, fans are saying they want 'The Kym' cut.

Her stylist friend Martine Alexander told Kym's hairdresser on Instagram: "I can’t be held responsible if I get 'The Kym' cut tomorrow @vincent_allenby."

"Looks great! I was thinking of taking mine shorter seeing your new haircut has convinced me!" said another follower.

Another Instagram follower told the soap star that it's a 'stunning and sophisticated look.'

"Gorgeous!!! This length really suits you!!!" praised another.

The shorter style reminds fans of when Kym first arrived on Coronation Street as Michelle Connor in 2006.

"Love it, it suits you shorter," said one.

"I always liked it when you had the bob when you were first behind the bar at the Rovers Return. Always looks so healthy."

Kym, 44, is hosting the BBC's new breakfast show Morning Live with Gethin Jones, and after her first day on Monday she said she'd had a 'blast.'

"Well....yesterday was an absolute blast!!!" she told her Instagram followers.

"Thank you for all of your support on our first show."

The actress left the famous cobbles last year and has since been working on the new series of Kay Mellor's The Syndicate about a group of people whose lives change when they win the lottery and has been spotted filming on location with the show in Burley in Wharfedale in West Yorkshire.

She has been sitting in the hot seat as a guest presenter on The One Show and also hosted the BBC One consumer show Your Money and Your Life with Watchdog and Rogue Traders presenter Matt Allwright.

And she recently shared a socially distanced behind-the-scenes photo of herself working with Crime+Investigation UK, a documentary channel exploring real crime.
