Kylie Minogue sets stage on fire with electric Pride performance in Brighton

Kylie Minogue delivered an electric show at this year’s Brighton & Hove Pride festival, as she headlined proceedings at Preston Park last night.

More than 300,000 people turned up to show their support for Brighton’s LGBTQ+ community on Saturday.

Proceedings began with a parade through the city at lunchtime, followed by hours of partying and live music, with Kylie supported by Clean Bandit, Fleur East, Rina Sawayama and ABBA tribute act Bjorn Again.

The ‘Princess of Pop’ took to the main stage at around 8.45pm in what has been described by fans as “sublime” and "incredible".

Dressed in a glitzy blue sequined jumpsuit, the petite star left her blonde locks in loose waves and opted for a smokey eye look.

The 51-year-old star began her incredible set with ‘Love at First Sight’ followed by ‘Lucky in Love’.

She then changed into a blood red dress, with a stunning asymmetric hemline and drove the crowds wild with some more of her most popular hits.

The tiny Aussie starlet then changed outfit again, donning a pink jumpsuit, and carried a camcorder to film herself and the crowd.

She sent the crowds into a frenzy by singing a stripped down version of ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’, asking the audience to start the song before she finished it herself.

Later, Kylie was seen getting teary eyed as she sang ‘Especially For You’ while surrounded by LGBTQ+ couples dancing.

As her backing dancers came out draped in a number of world flags, she told the crowds: “Tonight is a special one. It's a time for some reflection and celebration."

As she left the stage, the crowds began to chant for one more song.

Moments later, Kylie emerged dressed in a rainbow dress - her fourth outfit of the night - in a perfect nod to Pride, and sang her 2018 hit ’I Want To Go Dancing’.

Kylie ended her electrifying set by saying: "Thank-you for your support. It's a two way street isn't it, and what a beautiful street."

Her final song for the night was ‘Spinning Around’, and was followed by a short firework display.
