Kylie Minogue says she ‘can’t wait’ to headline Brighton Pride 2019

Kylie Minogue has told fans that she “can’t wait” to celebrate love at this year’s Brighton Pride.

The pop icon will perform at the Pride In The Park event on Saturday August 3 as part of this year’s celebrations, which run from August 2-4.

Minogue, 50, took to social media to share the poster for this year’s annual festivities.

She wrote: “BRIGHTON! It’s happening! Can’t wait to celebrate #Pride with you all on August 3rd!”

Excited fans couldn’t get enough of the “epic” announcement with one user writing: “WOOOOOOOOOP WOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!! IT's gonna be SEN-SA-TION-AL!!!” [sic]

Another commented: “This made me gasp - I need my inhaler!”

A third added: “You will love it in Brighton eek can't wait.”

Minogue will be supported on the night by Clean Bandit.

Last year’s event was headlined by Britney Spears, who appeared to forget where she was during the show as she turned to ask her backing dancer where in the world they were.

The announcement comes weeks after Minogue was confirmed for this year's Legends slot at Glastonbury Festival, following in the footsteps of Lionel Richie, Barry Gibb and Dolly Parton.

But the revelation left festival goers split with some hailing it “incredible” while others claimed Minogue is “too young to be a legend”.
