Kylie Minogue says devastating breast cancer diagnosis changed her life forever

Kylie Minogue has admitted her life changed forever after she was diagnosed with cancer.

The Australian singer, 51, was struck down with the illness in 2005 when she was just 36 years old.

Kylie was in the middle of travelling across the world with her Showgirl tour when she forced to put her entire life on hold after the shocking news from her doctor.

The princess of pop discussed the impact of her diagnosis with Who Magazine, insisting everything changed.

The In Your Eyes singer explained: "Cancer changed many things forever, and then some things did not change at all.

"My view of the world was different, my destination, for the most part, was the same," she added.

Despite her battle and the physical, mental and emotional battles that came with it, looking back, Kylie says that her cancer diagnosis forced her to be more grateful for life.

It also allowed her to see the world in a much different light, with a more positive perspective.

The Aussie hit-maker admits: "My illness made me even more passionate about the all people and all the things that I love. But at the same time, life as I had always known it was on hold".

While she did everything in her power to try and stay positive at all times, Kylie says that on some days, she was forced to face the realities of what was happening to her.

During these difficult moments, the temporarily defeated singer would wallow in her sorrows and allow herself to cry it out and feel what she needed to feel.

Despite her down days, Kylie revealed that it was those around her – both family and strangers – that gave her the strength to come out the other end of her diagnosis.

She told Who Magazine, : "People shone so bright for me in those dark days. The strength my family showed was extraordinary. The love, support and the kindness of strangers! I was so very aware of, and grateful for, all that had gone before me."

The singer has previously confessed that she finds it extremely difficult to talk about her cancer diagnosis, and everything that she went through during the dark period in her life.
