Who's Kylie Minogue's Welsh boyfriend Paul Solomon? The former GQ creative director who's worked with some of the world's biggest stars

Pop star Kylie Minogue and Paul Solomons made their debut as a couple back in 2018 on the red carpet at the GQ's Men of the Year Awards.

Kylie's partner is a proud Welshman who went to school in Caerphilly and was creative editor of GQ, the high-end men's style magazine where he has worked since 2001.

Paul recently left that role after working with many A-listers during his time running Men of the Year edition. Kylie, who has lived in the UK for the past 30 years and has recently announced she'd be moving back down under after spending more time there with her family, parents Ron and Carol, during the pandemic.

The former St Ilan's Comprehensive and the Aussie popstar - whose mother is from Maesteg - are said to have been introduced by mutual friends, and for the moment it's not clear whether Paul will be making the big move with Kylie.

Speaking about the move for the first time with Zoe Ball on Radio 2, Kylie said: “It is true, I'll be basing myself in Australia but I can't believe the reaction it’s had. I have had friends call me, you know, my friend at my local restaurant was like ‘hey what do you mean you can’t go!’

“I said I am not really going, of course I've lived here for 30 years, I'm always going to be back. So, I am(moving) but I don't think too much will change.”

When Radio 2 host Zoe Ball mentioned lots of people’s priorities and lives had changed during lockdown, Kylie replied: “Yes absolutely. I spent a lot of time with my family this year in Australia and it felt really good, and I've been talking about that for a while. But don't worry, I will not be a stranger.”

The couple have been pictured holidaying in New York and while she was presenting a GQ Lifetime Achievement Award to The Smith's Johnny Marr, she appeared to pay tribute to Solomons, 47, from the stage.

"GQ, I loved you before, but now I love you that little bit more," she said at the Tate Modern ceremony.

Paul has worked with some of the world's most famous people in his time at GQ, including Cara Delevingne, Anthony Joshua, Matthew McConaughey, Will Ferrell and Micheal B Jordan, not to mention Prince William.
