Kylie Minogue felt ‘removed from her body’ during cancer struggle

  • Kylie Minogue has revealed her emotional struggle with breast cancer in the trailer for her upcoming Netflix documentary, stating she felt "removed" from her body and "so scared of what was ahead of me".
  • The three-part series, titled KYLIE, will explore the Australian singer's journey to pop stardom, featuring a rich collection of archival material, home movies, personal photographs, and new interviews, examining how she navigated public scrutiny, personal loss, and illness.
  • Her sister, Dannii Minogue, also features in the documentary, discussing the profound impact of Kylie's cancer ordeal and expressing her fear that they "didn’t know if she’s ever gonna be well again".
  • Minogue was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in May 2005 at the age of 36, undergoing a lumpectomy and chemotherapy before being given the all-clear in 2006, an event that led to an unprecedented increase in mammogram bookings, dubbed the "Kylie effect".
  • The documentary, directed by Emmy and Bafta award-winning Michael Harte, is set to be released on Netflix on 20 May and will also include insights from collaborators and friends such as Nick Cave, Jason Donovan, and Pete Waterman.
