Kylie Minogue clears up Robbie Williams duet claims: 'I didn't hear that rumour'

Kylie Minogue has addressed rumours that she’s recorded a secret duet with Robbie Williams for her new album.

The Australian singer, who is preparing to release Disco in November, collaborated with Williams on the song “Kids”, which was released in 2000.

However, the pair have not joined forces again, with Minogue telling the podcast The Kyle and Jackie O Show that she hadn’t even heard the claims.

“We were reading rumours about you and Robbie [Williams] collaborating once again for the new album – is that just a rumour?” co-host Jackie O Henderson asked.

Minogue, 52, replied: “I didn’t hear that rumour. So yes, it was a rumour – but I’d love to work with Robbie again, sure.”

After performing the coveted “legends” slot at Glastonbury Festival in 2019, Minogue started recording her new album. Earlier this week, she released the record’s first single, “Say Something”, which has been praised by her fans.

The track was produced by Minogue’s longtime collaborator Richard “Biff” Stannard, who was behind previous hits “Love at First Sight” and “In Your Eyes”.

Minogue has previously described her new album as having a “grown-up disco” sound, saying: “Even grown-ups need some pure pop fun.”

Her last record, Golden, was released in 2018.
