Kylie Minogue has been forced to cancel her concerts in Dublin and Belfast due to illness.

The musician was set to perform in both Dublin in Sunday night and Belfast on Monday night, but tweeted on Sunday that she would not be able to perform either shows due to vocal strain caused by a throat infection.

“I’m so sorry to let you know that I can’t do tonight’s Dublin or tomorrow’s Belfast shows. I’ve been trying everything possible to be well enough to perform for you but a throat infection has led to vocal strain,” she wrote.

“I promise I’ll be back as soon as possible and at 100%. (The Guinness will be on me!) We’re working on rescheduling and more details will follow. I’m so, so sorry to let you down and thank you for your understanding.”

Aiken Promotions have advised fans to hold on to their tickets as there are plans to reschedule the dates.

The Australian pop star is one of the rumoured headline acts for Glastonbury 2019, and recently said she would love a spot at the festival after being was forced to pull out in 2005, to undergo treatment for breast cancer.

“I think I would have been the first solo female to headline in however many years it was, so I was really proud of that at the time,” she told the Press Association.

“Obviously it didn’t happen. So yes, it would be amazing and very emotional to be standing there and doing what I didn’t get to do all those years ago, for sure.”
