Kylie Minogue joined a number of personalities who expressed their thoughts about the deadly shooting that took place in Bondi Beach on Sunday, 14 December.

The Locomotion singer turned to Instagram to join the public in mourning the death of 16 individuals who were killed while Australian Jews celebrated Hanukkah.

Minogue posted a black wall on her Instagram Stories page, with the message, 'My heart is with you Bondi,' with a broken heart emoji.

Bondi Shooting Tragedy

At least 15 people, including a 10-year-old girl, were killed, and 42 more were rushed to a hospital after 24-year-old Naveed Akram and his 50-year-old father, Sajid Akram, opened fire on Bondi Beach during an event to celebrate Hanukkah's first night.

ABC News reported that the older gunman was shot and killed by the police, while his son, Naveed is currently being treated in a hospital under close police supervision.

According to The Guardian, the younger Akram was flagged by the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) in October 2019, as revealed by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.

He was allegedly investigated for six months due to an alleged association with an Islamic state cell, but the investigators did not find any sign of interaction between the bricklayer worker and the international terrorist group.

The Mirror UK also revealed that the gun attack was developed to focus on Sydney's Jewish community.

'This attack was designed to target Sydney's Jewish community on the first day of Hanukkah, what should have been a night of peace and joy celebrated in that community with families and supporters, has been shattered by this horrifying evil attack,' NSW Premier Chris Minns said in a press conference.

The premier also shared that he understood the pain that the victims and their families were feeling due to the incident.

'It's a responsibility of all Australians to wrap their arms around Australia's Jewish community and help them get through this incredibly difficult period,' the premier added.

Celebrities React

Aside from Minogue, international celebrities also condemn the deadly attack.

According to 7News, TV host Oprah Winfrey was 'heartbroken' after learning about the news. She just spent two weeks visiting Australia, where she felt at ease with the ambience of the place.

She added that she is having a hard time reconciling the peace that she felt while travelling in the country with the terrors that took place in Bondi.

Meanwhile, Israeli actress Gal Gadot shared that her heart was shattered with the horrors experienced by her fellow Jews during the first night of Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Light.

Ashton Kutcher also reacted to the incident on his X account, saying, 'Antisemitic rhetoric is not abstract—it carries a cost, and my brothers and sisters continue to pay it. May this devastation somehow spark a hidden miracle, one our eyes do not yet have the merit to see.'

Also, Mandy Moore sympathised with her Jewish friends all over the world for having to deal with the devastating incident in a country with very strict gun control laws.
