Kylie Kelce has four young daughters with her husband Jason Kelce, but none of them have ever seen their Uncle Travis play football in person. While the family regularly supports the Kansas City Chiefs tight end from home, getting four small children to an NFL game has proven challenging.
The mom of four has daughters ranging in age from 4 months to 5 and a half years old. Finnley is 4 months old, Bennett is 2 and a half, Elliotte is 4 and a half, and Wyatt is 5 and a half. Despite having opportunities to attend games, the timing has never worked out for the young family.
The reason behind this absence makes perfect sense when you consider their ages and schedules. She explained that many of the opportunities to see Travis play have been Monday night games with late start times. These games typically begin at 8:00 p.m., which does not work well for young children who need to stick to their bedtime routines.
Why game timing matters for young families
The practical challenges of taking small children to evening NFL games are significant. Kylie noted that last year alone, there were multiple Monday Night Football opportunities that the family had to skip. The late start times simply do not match up with what young children need for proper sleep schedules.
Kylie hopes that the family might be able to attend a Sunday afternoon game instead. These games typically start at 1:00 p.m., which would be much better for her daughters. She mentioned that a Sunday afternoon game would give them the chance to finally see their uncle play live without disrupting the children’s routines.
The family still shows strong support for Travis from their home. Kylie said they are always cheering on Uncle Travis throughout the entire season. She noted that watching Travis play is different from watching her husband Jason, who retired from the NFL. Travis plays tight end, which she described as more exciting and fluid compared to the trenches where Jason played as a center.
Despite never attending games in person, the daughters are not strangers to Kansas City. The family has made trips to visit Travis, but these visits have not coincided with game days. Kylie expressed excitement about having someone close to the family still playing in the NFL, noting that while they have friends who are like family still in the league, it is especially fun to cheer on Travis. The excitement has grown even more since Travis began dating Taylor Swift, bringing additional joy to family gatherings.
The family is preparing to support Travis as he enters his 13th NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs. The close-knit Kelce family shares many traditions and continues to support each other through their various endeavors. Kylie emphasized how hard Travis is working and how excited the whole family is to continue supporting him. She believes that eventually, the timing will work out for the girls to see their uncle play in person, possibly during a more family-friendly Sunday afternoon game.
