Kylie Jenner has opened up about the “diabolical” way the paparazzi treated her in her youth, as well as her parents’ reaction when she first told them she was pregnant at 19 years old.
The reality star sat down for a candid chat on the most recent episode of Jake Shane’sTherapuss podcast, revealing to the host that she rarely leaves her home in Los Angeles because it’s “easier to be spotted” by the paps.
While she admitted the situation has died down in recent times, Kylie did recall the “insane” way paparazzi interacted with her when she was younger, including a “diabolical” and “inappropriate” insult hurled at her when she was just a teenager.
“’I don’t even know how I’m like a normal person right now,” Kylie said. “The things that they would say to me and how they would treat me as a child is diabolical — like, inappropriate.”
Kylie recalled one instance where a male paparazzi “called me a f**king sl*t when I was 16 [years old]”.
“I’m not lying. The things that they would say to me. I would never try to give them a photo,” Kylie said.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star went on to say that paparazzi would swarm “the front of my car” and “stand out because I was hiding”, adding that they’d “mock” her “because they wanted to just make more money off a scandalous photo”.
As for how she dealt with the increased media attention, Kylie said she didn’t hire personal security until after she had her first child, Stormi, because she “wanted to be normal [and] to be on my own in the world”.
Speaking of Stormi, Kylie revealed in the same Therapuss episode that she was initially “really scared” to tell her parents when she fell pregnant with her daughter at the age of 19.
“I was freaking out,” she recalled of her pregnancy back in 2017. “I was really scared, but there was something inside of me that knew that I wanted to do this.”
She continued: “I had to make a decision for myself. What do I really want? What can I handle? This is the choice I’m going to make.”
The social media star, who shares Stormi with her ex Travis Scott, revealed that her parents were on board with her decision.
“Then I told my mum [Kris Jenner]. No one was angry at me. It was just crazy, crazy times.”
Kylie gave birth to her second child with Travis, Aire, back in 2022.
More recently, she has been in a much-publicised relationship with actor Timothée Chalamet, who she’s been dating since 2023.
