Kylie Jenner might be the world’s youngest self-made billionaire, but the make-up mogul has just hit another billion on social media.
The Kardashian sister, who recently went viral for singing the words ‘rise and shine’ to her daughter Stormi, has now made TikTok history as the hashtag #RiseandShine now has 1.2 billion views on the platform.
Jenner broke the record after she filmed an office tour of her Kylie Skin HQ, during which the Rise and Shine meme originated.
At the office, her daughter Stormi Webster (who she shared with her ex Travis Scott) has her own playroom where she took a nap. Jenner showed the world how she wakes Stormi up - by flicking on the lights and singing the words ‘Rise and Shine’ to her.
The clip was quickly isolated and went viral on Twitter and Instagram as people made musical covers, transcribed music sheets and Jenner even jumped on board by changing her Instagram bio to “rise and shine". She also shared a popular meme that was being circulated of herself as the sun, writing "no caption needed."
TikTok is the latest social media platform to be taken with the ten second clip, with users lip syncing to the audio and creating spoof videos.
Evem Miley Cyrus got in on the fun as she shared a Rise and Shine video on her official TikTok account. The singer, who has previously starred on talent show The Voice, posted an edited clip of Kylie Jenner singing Rise and Shine on the show’s stage - which saw all of its celebrity judges immediately spin around.
A source at TikTok shared further information with TMZ, who revealed that #RiseandShine was “TikTok’s fastest-growing trend”. On the day that the meme went viral, the hashtag hit 4 million views in just one day and just a day later it hit 70 million views. It officially cleared the one billion mark on Sunday.
