Kylie Jenner is having a pretty fabulous summer - and she wants you to know about it. From flying out in a Kylie Skin-themed private jet through to sailing the high seas on a boat dripping in Chanel, one of her recent holiday snaps has exploded online with over 10.7 million likes.
The photo, which depicts Jenner sitting nude on the edge of a pool wearing only a gigantic straw hat, was instantly a hit online - but one Instagrammer has called out Jenner for supposedly copying her.
The influencer, called Amanda Ensing, responded to Jenner’s picture in the comments and wrote, “This photo looks awfully familiar. 🧐😅"
Ensing, who has 1.4 million followers, took a similar nude picture wearing a straw hat on her own Instagram and posted it in June.
But Jenner wasn’t having it for a minute and responded with a line that cut deep, writing, “from the words of Kim K ur not on my mood board but i did get my inspo off Pinterest.”
If you’ve been on Pinterest or even on Instagram, it’s likely you’ll have seen a few images similar to the one that Jenner staged in Turks and Caicos. In fact, Jenner’s gigantic floppy hat is made by cool girl brand Jacquemus and it’s no surprise that she’s seen a lot of “inspo off Pinterest”.
The hat became a viral fashion moment online, especially after a shot of a naked person on the beach completely covered by the hat went viral on Instagram. It swiftly became the picture of choice for fashion girls, who raised their voices as one and captioned it “mood”.
In fact, Jacquemus and Jenner had a loved up interaction in the comments, trading heart emojis with one another.
Jenner also featured the hat in a campaign for her make-up brand Kylie Cosmetics, which recently pushed her into billionaire territory earlier this year. In the pictures, she showed off a brand new eyeshadow palette and gloss lipstick - posing on the beach with the gigantic hat worn normally over her head. (Well, as normally as possible anyway.)
If anybody really wanted to come for Jenner, there’s actually an image that’s more similar to hers - Instagram user @pollunaa, who took a very similarly posed one in early February. It certainly wasn’t lost on those in the Russian influencer’s comments, as others began tagging Jenner in it and one even wrote, “Look at this and the date... this is the OG of this picture”.
In any case, Jenner’s moved on from her Jacquemus photoshoot. She’s instead taken to posing in co-ord with her BFF Stassie Baby or dragging chairs into the ocean for a photo op - another day, another Kardashian look book.
