Kylie Jenner house 2019: Things we learned about her extravagant home as seen in Architectural Digest

Kylie Jenner invited Architectural Digest into her California mansion, and if you love nothing more than snooping around an extravagant celebrity home, you're in for a treat.

Located in Hidden Hills, just a stone's throw from the houses of her mother and siblings, Kylie's house is a wild ride that features everything from Kylie Cosmetics-themed furniture to a gallery's worth of fine art and the beauty room to end all beauty rooms. There are also gigantic condoms - more on those later.

Jenner was joined by her friend, interior designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard, who told the magazine, "When we started this project [Kylie] wasn’t even old enough to drink legally. This was her first really grown-up house."

Here's a few wild things we learned about the decor Chez Jenner.

First things first - where do Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott live?

When tasked with conjuring a dream home for a vivacious almost-billionaire superstar, #AD100 designer @martynbullard obliged with a design scheme that is equal parts sparkle and sumptuousness. On the more glittery end of the spectrum are the white lacquer-and-acrylic grand piano in his client, makeup tycoon @kyliejenner’s monochromatic, Old/New Hollywood living room; the gold-leafed ceiling of the dining room; vintage Lucite furniture by Charles Hollis Jones; and reflective wall coverings galore. On the plush side of the equation, Bullard deployed carpets of Patagonian shearling, alpaca, and silk; snow leopard–patterned velvet on the vintage Milo Baughman barstools in the lounge; and fur bedcovers. In the lavish family room, pictured here, Jenner and her guests can take a swing on a @jimzivic hammock from @ralphpucciint suspended from the ceiling while enjoying treats from custom cocktail tables with cutouts for ice, champagne, and caviar. @bowerstudios mirrors from @thefutureperfect flank the fireplace and the marble side tables are by @kellywearstler. “The look is glamorous but totally inviting. Kylie loves to have people over, and there’s nothing so precious that you can’t stand, jump, or dance on it,” Bullard explains of the decorative mix. Kylie and Travis live together with their one-year-old daughter Stormi Webster in Hidden Hills, a neighbourhood in Los Angeles. The house is close to the homes of Kylie's siblings and mother Kris Jenner.

Kylie Jenner's former best friend Jordyn Woods used to live with her as well. However following an alleged cheating scandal between Woods and Khloe Kardashian's boyfriend Tristan Thompson, People reported that Jordyn was "moving back to her mom's house" at the end of February.

When did Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott buy their new house?

According to real estate company Trulia, Jenner bought the home in October, 2016.

What are the highlights from inside Kylie Jenner's house?

She has four closets - and a fitting room

Speaking to People, Lawrence-Bullard explained that each of Kylie's closets serves a different purpose, including her “regular everyday clothes” and a “workout closet which is strictly for workout clothes”.

Bullard revealed that Jenner's extravagant fitting room is where each look comes together: “That room is where outfits are put together. That particular dressing room is also used to store her most famous pieces of clothes. There are various Met Gala gowns. There is something special that [designer] Virgil Abloh made for her and incredible one-off pieces that she’s worn to very specific events.”

On Instagram Bullard captured the room's ceiling covered in "custom printed platinum wallpaper", "a floating suede covered shoe island that moves", "3 way mirrors" and custom lucite wardrobes for her sunglasses, accessories and other items of clothing.

Jenner also has a clothing archive that would give the V&A a run for its money. “It is a humidity controlled beautiful VIP storage room where the most important of her clothes or couture gowns that are made specifically for her that are kept in museum-like conditions" Bullard explained, "it’s an area of the closet that has been created into an archival closet.”

She has bespoke Kylie Cosmetics-themed furniture

Jenner and Bullard actually created custom furniture themed around the Kylie Cosmetics line which has made Jenner the bulk of her enormous fortune.

Her dining room features leather chairs in various shades of pink, which Bullard explained were created using “shades matched to colours in the [Kylie Cosmetics] lipstick kits, for a truly personal touch”.

In Jenner's living room you’ll also see a modern bronze side table with a melted effect. The table is one of a pair created to “resemble the drip design on Kylie’s lip kit packaging”.

The two tables were made by sculptural artist Zhi Peng Tan. A similar one is currently on sale for £23.4k on high end furniture site 1stdibs.com.

Jenner told Architectural Digest she likes to have emblems of her success dotted around the house: “I have a lot of Kylie Cosmetics, awards, and my magazine covers around the house that inspire me on a daily basis. I am very proud of what I’ve accomplished.”

She has a custom handbag room for her 400+ designer bags

Jenner owns so much arm candy she had to convert one of her home’s bedrooms to fit her estimated 400 designer bags.

She showed off the room in a closet tour video posted to her YouTube channel. The room features several floor-to-ceiling custom white lacquer shelves and mirrored walls, which Jenner explained were installed so each bag could “have a little home and be lit up really pretty”.

Among the collection are sparkling, lipstick-shaped Judith Leiber clutches, vintage Dior saddle bags, a whole array of Supreme goodies and plenty of Louis Vuittons. Jenner said the Birkin Bag shelf is her “favourite row” (Her mother Kris has a custom closet dedicated to Birkin bags, also built by Martyn Bullard.)

Kylie said, “I have been collecting these [Hermes] bags for a minute, they’re also a great investment.”

Jenner said if she had to save just one bag in a house fire, she would take her Hermes’ Niloticus Crocodile Retourne Himalaya Kelly bag - a white bag crafted from albino crocodile skin. Hermes only produces a couple of them a year and a version which featured 10.23-carat diamond detailing sold at Christie's in Hong Kong for £293,000 in 2017.

She spent at least £6k on designer beach towels

Kylie Jenner’s bathroom features sixteen bright pink Louis Vuitton beach towels.

A standard brown version of the towel costs £375, which means Jenner's 16-towel budget runs to at least £6000.

She has a wall of condom-themed art

One eyebrow-raising feature of the house is the set of four gigantic condoms hanging on the wall of Jenner's games room.

The pieces are from renowned artist Beau Dunn’s Size Does Matter series. Speaking about the collection to Art Angels, Dunn explained, “I talk about social pressures of being a woman, but there are social pressures of men. Is it wallet size? Penis size? It got me out of my world of women and beauty and being a model into actually talking to young men and asking, what are the pressures?”

She has the best beauty room of all time

As the CEO of her own makeup empire, Jenner has created the ultimate beauty station, with pastel pink chairs and a row of Hollywood mirrors. According to People, her countertops are crafted from pink marble and feature an array of artwork from Beau Dunn - including a neon sign reading ‘PLASTIC’.

Jenner said, "I told Martyn I wanted a fresh, fun vibe to match the way I was feeling. Color was essential. I love pink, and I wanted a lot of it!"

She continued, “My closets and glam room are very personal to me, even down to the size of each drawer, so they fit my specific products and clothes. I spend a lot of time in those rooms, so we had to make sure they were perfect."

She's a massive art collector

Jenner's home is also full of pieces by art legends including Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, and Andy Warhol. Bullard helped her curate the collection, which includes Warhol’s screen prints of Marilyn Monroe.

“Kylie feels a deep connection to Marilyn Monroe, so we placed a series of Warhol screen prints of Marilyn along the main stairway. In general, we selected artworks that felt appropriate for a young collector with feminine tastes. Everything reflects Kylie’s personality,” Bullard told Architectural Digest.

Kylie also has two neon installations by artist Tracey Emin. One reads, 'I can't believe how much you love me' and the other says 'The Kiss Was Beautiful.'

Jenner's bar and lounge also features three lithographs by Andy Warhol depicting colourful dollar signs.

In Jenner's dining room are seven of Damien Hirst’s butterfly pieces from his I Love You series.

The purchase is apparently inspired by Kylie and her boyfriend Travis Scott's love of butterflies. Scott wrote the song Butterfly Effect, he is also said to have spent £46k on an Elliot Avianne butterfly necklace for Jenner's birthday, and last Halloween Jenner dressed up as a butterfly with her daughter Stormi Webster.

“I used the @damienhirst hearts and butterfly’s artworks as another nod to Kylie’s love of butterflies and the special meaning they have to her and @travisscott” Bullard explained.

Jenner's sister Khloe Kardashian has four similar Damien Hirst prints in her own home, while Kylie has eight other Hirst prints in her master bedroom.

There's more Beau Dunn work too. The bulk of it appears to be in her beauty room and includes notable pieces from Dunn’s 'Plastic' series which centres around photographs of Barbies.

She goes hard at Christmas

The Kardashian family has a close relationship with celebrity florist and artistic director Jeff Leatham, who helps the family deck the halls with extravagant festive decorations. If you’ve been following Kylie on Snapchat and Insta-stories, you’ll know she loves a glitzy Christmas tree.

Last year there was an all-gold illuminated Christmas tree, estimated to be 20 feet tall.

She also asked Leatham to help her out with another magnificent tree in 2017. Bullard called it a “magical, sugar plum fairy fantasy tree."

On Valentine’s Day, Kylie shared her Valentine’s Day surprise - a massive floral tunnel of love completely decked out in red roses, candles and a neon heart sign.

How much is Kylie Jenner's house worth?

Trulia reported in October 2016 that Kylie Jenner bought her home for $12 million (£9.3 million). The site reports that her house is 13,200 square foot with a home theatre, pool, gourmet kitchen, spa/massage room and a view over Los Angeles.

Why did her house appear in Architectural Digest?

Architectural Digest featured Kylie Jenner's home in the most recent issue of the magazine. It was actually a Kardashian double feature as the publication also printed a tour of Kylie's mother Kris Jenner's house.
