Kylian Mbappe sent Liverpool transfer message after PSG 'arguments' claim

France World Cup winner Emmanuel Petit believes a move to Liverpool could be the 'best fit' for Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe remains one of the hottest prospects in world football with the Reds frequently mooted as future suitors.

The 22-year-old shot to stardom with Monaco in 2016 before helping France to World Cup glory two years later.

But Mbappe suffered disappointment at Euro 2020 this summer as his penalty miss sent France out of the tournament at the hands of Switzerland.

With a year remaining on his contract, Mbappe and PSG are at loggerheads as they look to extend his contract at the Parc des Princes or risk him leaving on a free transfer.

Speaking to Goal, former Arsenal midfielder Petit said: "There are so few clubs in the world that can afford to pay his wages so it’s possible that if he did leave he would come to the Premier League.

"The best fit for him might be Liverpool."

He added: "Kylian Mbappe has got a year left on his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, and he still hasn’t signed a new deal. It appears he’s had some arguments with Leonardo, the sporting director of the club.

"But Mbappe has huge ambitions, he wants to reach so many targets in football."
