Kylian Mbappe says he's proud that the "amazing" Trent Alexander-Arnold decided to copy his goal celebration last month.
Liverpool's Alexander-Arnold pulled off the trademark Mbappe look when he found the net in the Reds' 4-0 victory at Leicester City on Boxing Day.
The right-back - who had a hand in Liverpool's three other goals in the game, assisting two and helping to win a penalty for the other - raced off to the corner flag and stood in front of the Reds fans with his arms folded after scoring the goal, a la Mbappe .
And the Paris Saint-Germain forward approved of the England international's homage to him, telling BBC Sport : "Yeah, I saw! I'm proud. This guy is amazing."
Mbappe, who has been tentatively linked with Liverpool in recent months, also paid tribute to the form of Jurgen Klopp's team, who currently sit 16 points clear at the top of the Premier League after winning 21 of their 22 matches.
"What Liverpool do in this moment is amazing," Mbappe continued.
"They're like a machine, they've found a rhythm and are like 'we play again, we play again'.
"They've lost zero games. When you watch you think everything's easy but that's not easy. The guys are focused, they play games every three days and they win, they win, they win.
"Now the problem is that everybody watches Liverpool , and everybody watches what we can do against them, so now they have to show they are strong again but it's a very good team with a very good manager."
Despite the links, the Reds aren't expected to move for the 21-year-old forward, who Klopp has suggested will be too expensive for them.
