Kylian Mbappe sends Man City fans wild with Bernardo Silva comment

Manchester City fans are hopeful Kylian Mbappe is on his way to the Etihad Stadium after his recent social media activity.

Pep Guardiola's side are short of firepower up front with Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus suffering from injury problems this season. Aguero's contract expires at the end of the current season, with no extension agreed yet.

Mbappe's contract with Paris Saint-Germain runs until 2022, and it has been reported that the forward is reluctant to extend his contract in the French capital and could therefore push for an exit.

Bernardo Silva was recently quizzed on a potential move for Mbappe to City, given their friendship after their time as teammates at Monaco.

“Kylian Mbappé. He was already a special player at Monaco when I was there, and he’s also a friend. If we could get him, it wouldn’t be bad, eh?” he told L'Equipe.

Now, Mbappe has added further fuel to the fire with his social media activity in recent days. The World Cup winner has been actively posting on Silva's page and Riyad Mahrez, exciting City fans even further. Replying to a post from Bernardo, Mbappe wrote: "You are beautiful my cousin."

Naturally, fans hoped the existing relationship between the Frenchman and some of City's existing players would bode well for any future transfer move:

Still just 21-years-old, Mbappe has been in sensational form since moving to the French capital as he has hit 96 goals in 130 appearances for the club.

He helped PSG reach last season's Champions League final, where they were defeated by Bayern Munich, and has long been linked with a move to the Premier League.

Arsenal were linked with his services before he left Monaco, while Liverpool have regularly been named as suitors during recent transfer windows.
